PRACTICE AIMS

The surgery provides the full range of family medical services for all ages including advice regarding disease and injury prevention, diagnosis and treatment, occupational medicine (including WorkCare), children's and women's health, sports medicine, geriatric and terminal care.

We aim aim to provide quality and comprehensive health care in order to benefit our patient's health and well-being. In support of this aim all staff undergo continuing training and education. The practice facilities and technologies are continually updated in line with current practise. Continuity of care, and familiarity and respect of patient circumstances, are an important component of this service.

NEW PATIENTS

Unfortunately due to demands on our services we have not always in the position to take on the care of new patients. It is our policy however to always accept the care of relatives of our existing patients. If this applies, then when making an appointment for the first time please ensure that the receptionist is aware of the relationship.

It is also expected that with the recent changes in billing policy that this will be less of a problem, so please contact us and check.

RECALL SYSTEM

The practice runs a computerised recall system for a number of common preventative and health review activities. If you wish not to be involved in this system please inform the office staff or your doctor.

PATIENT FEEDBACK

We care about the quality of the service we provide, if you have any complaints, or suggestions, please feel free to discuss them with either the reception staff or your Doctor. For anonymity a suggestion box is available in the waiting room.

Appointments

CONSULTATIONS

We run an appointment system and patients should telephone the surgery to arrange an appointment. However, in cases of emergency patients will be seen immediately. The duration of a standard consultation is between ten and fifteen minutes. If you feel that your problem may take longer (complex problems, emotional problems, translator required), or appointments for two or more family members are required, please advise reception at the time of making your appointment so that more time can be allocated. If no appointments are available patients will always be seen if medically necessary, however a longer than usual wait may be expected.
