Young District Medical Centre

Young District Medical Centre is a family oriented practice in Young . The practice has five associate doctors who work variable hours allowing the practice to offer a comprehensive service between the hours of 9am and 5pm week days.


After hours cover is provided by the Young District Hospital Duty Doctor - initially contact or attend the Accident and Emergency Department on (02) 6382 1222 and trained nursing sisters will give advice and contact the duty doctor as required.

All medical services are provided by fully qualified doctors who maintain their skills by participating in the Continuing Medical Education Scheme run by the RACGP. The practice is part of the RACGP training program and from time to time, employs trainee doctors involved in that program. Medical Students may be periodically attached to the practice and you will be notified on your arrival. Please inform the receptionist if you would prefer not to have the student present during your consultation.


The doctors in the practice are assisted by a practice manager, David Cook, eight receptionists and five part-time nurses. All the members of the reception and nursing staff are competent users of a computer based appointment and billing system. The registered nurses in the practice are involved in Immunisation, Sterilization, Dressings, assisting in minor surgical procedures, recording ECG’s, Spirometry, Blood Pressure recording and emergency First Aid.
