Fees and Billing

Fees

We are a private billing clinic and charges may apply for Pensioners and Health Care Card holders.

A standard (\"Level B\") consultation is $37 - the Medicare rebate for this is $24.45.

A long (\"Level C\") consultation is $61 - the Medicare rebate for this is $41.45.

A prolonged (\"Level D\") consultation is $75 - the Medicare rebate for this is $61.10.

A standard (\"Level B\") home visit is $61 - the Medicare rebate for this is $39.25.

If the account is not paid on the day an extra $5 fee will apply to consultations (except home visits). We accept cash, cheques, MasterCard and Visa and have Eftpos facilities.

Consultations for routine childhood immunisations are usually bulk-billed.

Pensioners are bulk-billed for most consultations except those on Sundays and public holidays when a reduced private fee will apply.

Health Care Card holders are charged a reduced private fee for consultations with all doctors.

Veterans\' Affairs patients with a gold card are not charged any additional fees.

Due to the increasing costs associated with providing high quality medical care it has become necessary to now charge a private fee to Pensioners and Health Care Card holders for procedures such as the suturing of cuts, the removal of moles and the treatment of fractures. These procedures attract a Medicare rebate. Full details of our fees for consultations and procedures are available by contacting our receptionists.

We are also charging all patients for the provision of some consumable items, such as dressings, which are not covered by the Medicare rebate.

Repeat prescriptions now attract a charge of $10 for privately billed patients and $8 for Pensioners and Health Care Card holders. Patients who wish instead to attend only for a repeat prescription will usually be bulk-billed.

We appreciate payment on the day for all consultations, especially those where we provide an expensive item such as vaccines against meningitis, chickenpox and hepatitis A or B.

Any patients who are experiencing financial difficulty in paying their accounts are encouraged to discuss this with Alison Caretti or with their treating doctor.
