Fees
Intial consultations require a valid referral from a GP or optometrist and are currently (Oct 2000) charged at $95.00.
Subsequent visits within the referral period are currently charged at $45.00.
All pension and health care card holders are bulk billed.
Those requiring surgery can elect to go on the public waiting list at RPAH or be done privately at NSW Private, Ashfield. Patients in a health fund will not have to pay any gaps for the surgeon or hospital as the funds will be directly billed. Uninsured patients who elect to go privately will have to pay the gap between the medicare rebate and the fee charged which varies depending on the operation.
Please note that the fees quoted will increase in subsequent years in line with CPI.
