Telephone Calls

The doctor may be seeing patients when you call so you may be asked to hold and speak with him/her between consultations. Alternatively you can leave a contact number and we will get back to you at the end of the consulting session.

If your problem is about a medical condition, it is best to make an appointment to discuss this with the relevant doctor so that a proper assessment can be made.

If you require pathology results these can sometimes be given over the phone. You may be required to return for a further consulation to discuss results if the doctor requests this.

Referrals and Workcover Certificates.

The doctor is the best person to advise the most appropriate specialists for you to see regarding your medical problem. To ensure the best care you must see the doctor for a referral before seeing a specialist. It is illegal to back date a referral so please ensure that you have a current referral before seeing the specilist. Most referrals only last 1 year so if you are seeing a specialist for ongoing care please ensure that your referral is current when you make an ongoing specialist appointment.

Workcover Certificates are legal documents and therefore can only be issued when a consultation/examination is made.
