Fees
All Pensioners, Health Care Card holders, Department of Veterans Affairs Card Holders are \"Bulk Billed\" if the cards are presented.
Other patients will be requested to settle the Account at the time and use the receipt to claim the rebate back from the Health Insurance Commission (Medicare).
WorkCover cases will be claimed from the relevant institution by the Patients.
Consultation fees vary from time to time according to the Health Insurance Commission recommandations. Their item number system is used. The fee for a \"Standard Consultation\" (which is under 20 mins), item 23, is $29-45 as from May 2001. The Medicare rebate in $23-45.
A consultation that lasts 20mins to 40 mins (item 36) costs $49-35 and the Medicare rebate is $42-35.
Please note that medical services that are not illness related are not covered by the Medicare and may be required to pay GST. These services include Insurance Examinations, Employment Physicals, Overseas Travelling Immunisation Advices etc.
Childhood immunisations and Private Drivers\' Licence Medicals are covered by the Medicare.
If there is any financial difficulties, please inform the receptionist before the consultation.
