Home Visits Home visits - After Hours: Can be arranged (ACT wide) through our after hours medical service on 288 1711

Home Visits - In Hours: Home visits are only possible for those patients in the Woden area that are medically unable to come to the surgery, and are usually undertaken at the end of the doctor’s surgery commitments for the day. Home visits in other areas may be available by ‘special arrangement’ with your doctor .

AMA fees for home visits are normally charged.

Ambulances are usually able to arrive at emergencies faster than your doctor and should always be contacted in emergencies ( phone: 000 )

Nursing Home and Hospital Visits Nursing home and hospital visits can be arranged through our receptionists

Repeat Prescriptions Unless otherwise arranged with your doctor, it is the policy of the practice (in the best interests of each patient\'s health) not to issue repeat prescriptions without seeing the doctor.

Occasionally the doctor may be able to issue a temporary prescription, dependant upon seeing the patient within a few days.

A $5 fee is charged for prescriptions when patients are not seen

Phone Calls to Doctors Are initially dealt with by the receptionists or sisters.

Unless an emergency, your doctor will (as necessary) either call you back or relay a message through a staff member.

If the telephone conversation however becomes a phone consultation, the doctor\'s time will be billed at the appropriate surgery rate (no medicare rebate applies to phone consultations).

Appointments

Consultations are by appointment only.

It is helpful for us when you are making an appointment to give some indication of the nature of the appointment to allow for the necessary time and treatment. This applies especially to insurance medical examinations. If you are unable to attend for your appointment, please notify the surgery prior to your appointment time otherwise a $30 fee will be charged for ‘missed appointments’.
