Policy

After Hours Doctor is available for after hours attention from Monday to Saturday noon only by phoning 0418 155540. From Saturday noon and Sunday emergencies should be directed to Murwillumbah District Hospital Emergency Department on 6672 0230.

Appointments and Home Visits Usually 15 minutes is allocated per appointment but this could change if there have been emergencies or if the surgery is very busy.

Please let the receptionist know if you think you will need a longer consultation eg for counselling or if you have more than one problem to be dealt with.

If you are too sick to come to the surgery Doctor can visit you at home. Requests for house calls are best made before 10.00am. Please remember though that house calls are time consuming and that doctor could usually see three patients at the surgery in the time taken to visit one at home.Visits can also be arranged in nursing homes.

Requests for scripts without a visit Prescriptions for medicines taken regularly can sometimes be obtained by regular patients without seeing the doctor. Requests can be made by phone, letter or calling at the surgery. It is usually necessary that doctor have at least 24 hours notice to deal with your request - a script fee is charged (more for complex scripts)

Results of Tests All patients are strenuously recommended to actively seek results of all tests. You will be advised when and how to obtain results. Even when results are normal if you are concerned about your condition please ensure a follow-up appointment is made. Please call AFTER 10.00am when seeking results.

Phone Calls to Doctor Face to face consultation with the doctor is best opportunity to disclose problems. However if you are needing to talk to the Doctor, this can be done by giving a message to the receptionist. The message will be passed on to the Doctor and he will either phone back or give a message for the receptionist to phone you back

Wed. 8.30am - 1.00pm.

Thurs, Fri. 8.30am - 5.00pm

We run an appointment system. Please telephone to make your appointment. Urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly.

Please phone in advance if you can’t keep your appointment, so the time can be given to another person needing to see the doctor. Missed appointment fees are charged.
