TINGALPA FAMILY HEALTH CARE CENTRE

Policies and Appointments

Policy

We are committed to provide comprehensive health care of the highest standard to all individuals.

Our doctors are trained and experienced in a broad range of health problems dealt within general medical practice. They participate in the Continuing Medical Education programme conducted by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Urgent cases are seen without delay.

When telephoning the Surgery please mention to the receptionist, the urgency of the condition.

We keep to time as far as possible.

When phoning the reception for an appointment please indicate whether you need a long appointment.

All equipment is sterilised according to the current specifications set out by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

We use a Siltex autoclave for sterilising the equipment.

Our Staff is always available to help you in any way.

If you need to call a taxi or other transport just inform us. If there are any short-comings in our service we encourage patients to discuss with our friendly staff. It is always better to discuss the problems with us rather than discussing them with outsiders.

We believe your health is best managed by continuous care from the same source, rather than taking different problems to different places.

If further investigations or treatment is necessary we will refer you for specialist opinion, investigations and treatment when necessary.

We provide our patients the time necessary for us to properly explore and deal with their problems.

We adopt evidence-based approaches wherever possible.

The practice has a large collection of guides and books on management of various conditions in a general practice settting.

We promote preventive health care approaches.

The doctors discuss the management and prevention of the patient\'s condition in detail and wherever possible educate them by giving out information in the form of handouts.

We promote patients to be involved in health care decision making when appropriate.

Discuss with the patient the treatment and preventive strategies. If the patients have a problem we encourage them to always discuss the problem with us.
