Urgent Medical Attention

If you require urgent medical assistance at home please contact the Ambulance Service immediately on 000.  If an urgent medical situation arises while at the surgery, please inform the receptionist immediately.

 

Test Results

If you have not been asked to make a follow up appointment or other arrangement for checking your results, please ring in two weeks to find out your doctors comments or instructions. Please note urgent results will be followed up at the discretion of your doctor.

 

Workcover, Motor Vehicle and Third Party Accounts

All patients will be asked to pay Workcover, motor vehicle and Third Party accounts in full until a claim number is issued.  Accounts will then be issued direct to the insurance company.  A bill can be done in the employers name only if a letter on company letterhead, stating that they will accept responsibility for all accounts relating to the injury, is supplied.

 

Home Visits

The clinic will endeavour to visit established patients at home, when for medical reasons, they are unable to attend the clinic.  If one or our doctors is unable to attend we will arrange for a locum doctor to visit.

 

24hr Care for Out of Hour Visits

Outside of the usual consulting hours, the clinic uses an after hours deputising service.  Call 8295 2167 for the details or phone the locum service direct on 13 7425 (13 SICK) after 6pm week days, after 12pm Saturdays and all day Sundays and public holidays.

 

Recall System

Rose Street clinic has a recall system in place for a variety of medical reasons.  You may be contacted by your doctor or member of staff if the need arises.  If you do not wish to be part of our recall system, please inform your doctor.  Rose Street Clinic also participates in National and State Register such as Breast Screen SA, Cervical Screening, Bowel Cancer Screening and Australian Childhood Immunisations.

 

Telephone Calls and Emails

If you need to speak to a doctor, please advise the receptionist.  A message will be taken and passed onto the appropriate doctor for them to return your call at their earliest convenience.  The receptionist will need to ask some details so that the doctor can prioritise his/her calls or paperwork.  Calls are normally done at the end of consulting hours or during a lunch break.  If the situation is urgent, please advise the receptionist.  Doctors do not take messages through fax or email unless previously organised directly with your doctor.

 

Paperwork

The doctors request an appointment for all paperwork.  This includes new or ongoing referrals and prescriptions.  Any paperwork supplied outside of an appointment may incur a fee.

 

Access to Medical Records

Rose Street Clinic has a procedure in place for accessing records.  A cost is involved which is NOT rebatable by Medicare. Please see Practice Manager for more information.

 

No Smoking Policy

For occupational health and safety reasons, there is a no smoking on our practice premises or in the immediate environment.

 

Complaints

Please contact the Practice Manager if you have any complaints or issues that arise with regards to your service or care at Rose Street Clinic.  We endeavour to resolve any complaints or issues directly.  However, in the event that you feel this has not happened you can contact the Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner on 8226 8666 (PO Box 199, Rundle Mall, Adelaide, 5000) or go to www.hcscc.sa.gov.au

 

Feedback

We encourage patient feedback so we can continue to improve services to our patients.  Please inform us of your thoughts in writing by mail to 1 Rose Street, Glenelg, 5045 or dropping it into reception.

Appointments

This clinic has an appointment system, normally appointments are at 15 minute intervals, but if you think you will require extra time, please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment.  Please note that a 15 minute appointment is for 1 person only, if 2 people in the family need to see the doctor please book 2 appointments. Please advise receptionist at the time of making your appointment if you have a preferred doctor.  We can then advise you when your preferred doctor will next be available.
