Policy

House Calls House calls are undertaken for patients who are in real need and are usually between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.

After Hours We use the doctor deputising service. Telephone 9429 5677. Our doctors are contacted if needed. We suggest that an ambulance be called in an emergency.

Travel Medicine We can advise you on the necessary immunisations for your next holiday or business trip.

Work Care Transport Accident Please advise the receptionist at the desk if your consultation is in relation to either of the above categories.

Pre-Employment Examinations We can provide your business with a pre-employment facility. It is possible to fax us your request with the employee\'s details. Appointments can be arranged with a minimum of disruption to your work schedule.

Flu vaccine Flu vaccine is recommended for people over 65 years and people with chronic respiratory and other illnesses.

Pneumovax Pneumovax is recommended every year for five years for people over 65 years for protection against strains of pneumonia.

Smoking withdrawal Acupuncture laser or needle is used to help with withdrawal symptoms.

Mammogram screening Free and available for all women over 50 years of age.

Cervical smears Smears are recommended once every two years in older women.

Hormone Replacement Therapy Available for menopausal women with risk factors for heart problems and osteoporosis.

Impotence The latest treatment available.

Prostate We screen for prostate cancer in the older man.

Sexually Transmittable Diseases We do full assessments and treatment.

Hepatitis B The vaccine is recommended for the young and those at risk.

Methadone provision The provision of methadone is available to approved applicants.

Childhood vaccination Recommended for all children.

Acupuncture Useful in the treatment of migraine.

Appointments

Appointments for consultations with the doctor are available and are in fact preferred.Patients will still be seen without an appointment, but priority will be given to patients with appointment times.Urgent consultations are always given priority.Longer consultations are available by appointment.
