PRACTICE POLICIES

HOME VISITS

Doctors will perform home visits for regular patients who are too ill to attend the surgery.  This is dependent on the availability of a GP.  Patients may ring the Locum Service to have a doctor a doctor attend their house on 8130 3333

TELEPHONE MESSAGES

All messages will be taken by the reception staff and relayed to the doctor concerned.  Unless urgent, your doctor will return your call as soon as possible.  Due tot he privacy laws, it is the practice policy not to give pathology/xray results over the telephone.  Ptients are asked to make an appointment to follow up any results.

REFERRALS/SICK CERTIFICATES/PRESCRIPTIONS

Patients are advised that they will need to make an appointment with their doctor as these documents are not able to be written without patient doctor contact.

FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Wheel chair access is available through the front of the premises.  Suitable toilet amenities are provided.  A wheel chair is available for patients requiring assistance from their cars into the surgery.  Should you have any special needs, please do not hesitate in discussing them with the staff.

AFTER HOURS ARRANGEMENTS

Patients phoning the surgery after hours will automatically be diverted to the Southern Locum Service  (GP Connect).  Alternatively patients can contact the Locum service direct on 8130 3333 for a doctor to attend to you at home.

Appointments

All appointments are booked in 10 minute increments, however procedures such as pap smears will require a longer appointment.

Please advise our receptionist at the time of making your appointment if you require a longer appointment.
