Ken Thomson

MD, FRANZCR, FRCR, American Board Certificate In Radiology

Ken graduated from Otago University
in 1968 and completed his
basic radiology training in 1974. He
studied in chest radiology, cardiac and
vascular radiology and interventional
radiology in Canada and the USA
before returning to Australia in 1977.
He has been a hospital-based
specialist angiographer and
interventional radiologist for the past
23 years. In 1996 he received the
degree of Doctor of Medicine from the
University of Melbourne for his thesis
on "Angioplasty of the arteries of the
lower limbs". He is a charter member of
the Society for Minimally Invasive
Therapy, a past President of the
Interventional Radiology Society of
Australasia, and the Director of
Radiology at The Alfred, Melbourne
