This service provides an after hours point of contact for patients of subscribing clinics. Home visits are available in addition to medical advice by phone when required or requested. If a patient asks to speak to a duty doctor, this must be done through a telephonist. The telephonist takes down the patient's details and then asks the doctor to call the patient. We are not an emergency service, conditions of this nature such as chest pain or shortness of breath should be referred to hospital or an ambulance. An interpreter service is available on request. Treatment and diagnosis details of any visit are forwarded to the patient’s normal general practitioner the next working day after the home visit. Information regarding a patient’s GP, their opening hours and after hours contact details for emergencies, are readily available.
