Consultation Fees

Payment is required at the time of consultation.

Scripts & Referrals We encourage patients to remember to ask the Doctor for continuing prescriptions and referrals during their consultation time. These requests, outside consultation time, will incur a $25.00 fee.

NOTICE The Doctors require 48 hours notice in relation to patients requesting repeat scripts, letters or referrals.

Personal Health Information Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. (This is in line with the National Privacy Principles)

PRIVACY POLICY Our practice has produced a Privacy Policy leaflet which aims to explain clearly how personal information about you and your health is recorded and managed in this practice. If you would like a copy, you can collect a copy from the practice or we would be happy to mail one to you. Your doctor will be happy to discuss this with you. The information contained on this website is accurate, kept up to date and complies with the AMA Code of Ethics.

Telephone callsOur Doctors, when not consulting, will receive or return telephone calls from their patients.

Appointments

Consultations are by appointment only, however cases of emergency will be promptly dealt with.

 

Emergency telephone calls are triaged and also dealt with promptly.

 

Home visits are provided, if necessary, on our behalf by the Melbourne Medical Deputising Service.

 

We have a Practice Nurse in attendance each day. Sue, Sam and Glenda assist our practice by performing immunisations, attending to emergency patients, changing dressings and completing care plans and are available by appointment only.

 

Our Reception staff, Lorraine, Linda, Lyndal, Jo, Marita and Sarah are available to make bookings and assist you as required.

 

Appointments/Consultations are either Standard (06-19 mins), Annual Pap screen or Long (26-40 mins).

 

Our reception staff will ask you to specify which of the above consultations you require at the time of your booking.

 

Failure to attend or failure to cancel (in a reasonable timeframe) your appointment, will result in a fee being charged. The fee ( $30 / $50 ) is not claimable from Medicare.

 

AFTER HOURS SERVICE

 

After hours cover is provided by the Melbourne Medical Deputising Service.

 

Patients requiring after hours care or a home visit should call the service on (03) 9429-5677.

 

A consultation fee applies to utilise this service, however a rebate is claimable from Medicare.

In the case of an EMERGENCY patients should call for an ambulance on 000. There is also a PRIVATE, 24 Hour Emergency Department at the Epworth Hospital which can be contacted on (03) 9426-6302. A fee will be charged for attendance at this emergency department.
