Dr Raymond (Ray) Collins
Dr Collins graduated from Sydney University and spent the next 8 years specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, training in New Zealand and in the UK. On his return to Australia, he worked full-time as a GP Obstetrician in Coffs Harbour, NSW, for the next 14 years. He relocated to Brisbane in 2001, working in group Practices in Scarborough, Clontarf and Narangba. In 2004, he decided to start a solo Practice in Brendale, a government-designated outer metropolitan "area of need". His wife Yvonne is the Practice Manager, Practice Nurse and Receptionist. She is helped on occasions by two of their daughters, Katherine and Phillipa, both of whom are full-time university students.
Special Interests
Dr Collins' special areas of interest are in Family Planning, shared antenatal care, office gynaecology, paediatrics, and general lifestyle counselling. He also has an interest in most other areas of General Practice, including minor procedures such as suturing, occupational medicine, asthma, heart disease, diabetes and ear, nose and throat problems. He performs ECG's and spirometry (lung function tests) as well as cryotherapy and diathermy to skin lesions.
